I just saw your Dad in the early morning hours of the 16yh of May.  I was stuck at the Atl airport..I called Groomes and Joe was there..he told me to wait he'd be right there..and he was.  Joe was an awesome man, he definately was one of a kind!  I know he is watching after you three Ladies with so much love and pride.  All he could talk about on the trip to Warner Robins was about the three of you..how proud and thankful he was to have you.

I lost my dad a little over a year ago and while I miss him terribly I know he is in such a better place and he is perfect with no pain or sickness because he is with his Heavenly Father. When I was growing up we visited my Aunt Margie and Uncle Doc in Macon a lot. Joe, who I grew up knowing as cousin Sammie, was always around when we visited. I remember his long hair, big smile and funny laugh. I am sad that he is gone but I know Aunt Margie is tickled pink to have him with her now. My love and prayers are with the entire family.

I had the honor of working with Joe at B&W and also being a friend of his outside the plant. I know nothing can be said to ease the grief but knowing he was respected by many may help. I am so sorry for the loss of your Daddy & Grandfather.  Joe was a great friend to many of us over the years.  He will truly be missed.  Your Daddy and Grandfather left us with great memories.I can still see #12 at first base making those great plays.  He was one of the best hitters I had ever seen play the game.  He loved the game of softball, but most of all he loved his family.  Kelly, Maria, Joanna, Jennifer and Tracy, thank you for sharing Joe with us for so many years. I'm sad that the next time I heard Joe's name spoken was of his passing. I knew Joe through softball games played with my brother (Kea Ross) and my late husband, Mike (Gabriel) (Kojak). I know there's a good game going on in Heaven with Joe & Mike together again! Peace be with you all!
