Joseph “Woody” Butler, Jr., 72, passed away. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens, Forsyth GA with the Rev. Joe McDaniel will officiating. The family will meet friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Mr. Butler was born in Chicago, IL to the late Joseph Woodrow and Helen Bacon Butler, Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Spears Butler. He had an Associate Degree from Macon State College and was an avid stamp collector. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Julie Butler of Sharpsburg, GA, his beloved grandchildren, Anna, Michael and Emily Butler, all of Sharpsburg and his mother-in-law, Ruth Spears of Watkinsville, GA and many nieces and nephews.
