Joyce Ellington Jones

Joyce Ellington Jones, 96, of Macon, GA. Passed away April 2, 2022 at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon. A celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Mrs. Jones was born on June 6, 1925 in Dublin, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert W. Jones, Sr., her father, John Simeon Ellington and mother, Willie Lee Evans Ellington. Also preceded in death were her siblings, Johnny Ellington, Charles Ellington, Jimmy Ellington, Lillian Stuckey, Margie Bailey, Lois Crowder, and Jean Ellington.

She is survived by one son, Robert W. Jones, Jr. (Bobby) wife, Jeannie of Albany; two grandsons, Blake (Allyson) Jones of Albany and Brian Jones of Atlanta; three great grandchildren, McKenna Fox (Matthew) of Macon, Sarah Parker Jones of Athens, and Jonathan Jones of Statesboro.

Mrs. Jones graduated from Dublin High School and lived all her life in Macon. She was a lifelong member of Cherokee Heights Baptist Church. She was a member of Daughters of The Nile and the Order of The Eastern Star. Mrs. Jones was a bookkeeper and retired from Coleman Meadows & Pate. She loved to sew and was an avid quilter.

She has three surviving sisters, Grace McEachern, Sue Weaver both of Dublin and Eloise Hester of Augusta and many nieces and nephews.
