Monday, January 4, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Martha Bowman United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Magoni and Rev. Fran Magoni officiating.The family will greet friends from Noon to service time at the church. The service is open for public attendance, but masks and social distancing are required. The service may be viewed live by visiting marthabowman.online.church Interment will be following the service at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Rankin was born in Jones County to the late John Emmit Hudson and Eunice May King Hudson. She was a member of the Genesis Sunday School Class at Martha Bowman United Methodist Church. She graduated from Miller High School and went on to graduate with a Nursing Degree from the Macon Hospital. After working for several doctors private practices, she started working at the Macon Hospital (now Navicent Health) in 1955 as a Pediatric Nurse and became the Head Nurse of the Pediatric Department before retiring in 1986. She enjoyed helping children and cherished her time there.
After her husband passed away, she moved to John Wesley Villas where she lived for the last 10 years, making many friends.
She was a loving wife and mother and an exemplary homemaker. She will be remembered for her deep love for her family, strong Christian faith and the wonderful connections she made with everyone who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter-in-law, Diane Moore Rankin
of Macon; son-in-law, Bill Plas of Elyria, Ohio; grandson, Sashi D. Plas of Elyria, Ohio; granddaughters, Amy Watson (Lewis) of Macon and Susan (Billy) Nichols of Forsyth; 15 great grandchildren; nieces Susan Humphrey Dotherow (Ray) of Eatonton, Julie Wilkerson of Atlanta, nephew Burt Wilkerson of Macon; and several great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews and a great great great niece.
She was predeceased in death by her husband, Harry E. Rankin, Sr.; daughter, Nancy Rankin Plas; son, Harry E. (Bubba) Rankin, Jr.; brother, Jack Hudson; sister-in-law in-law Jean Hudson; sisters Margaret Hudson Monegue and Mary Jane Beasley; sisters-in-law Elaine Rankin Wilkerson; Wynelle Beardsley; nephews Jack Hudson, Jr. and Mike Beasley.
