

Joyce Wilburn Wells, 80, passed away on March 23, 2011 after a brief illness. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Freeman officiating. The family will greet friends on Friday, March 25, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Plentitude Baptist Church, Plentitude Church Road, Gray GA 31032.
Mrs. Wells was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Jesse Lee and Alleyne Wilburn, Sr. She is preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Barfield and brother, Jesse Lee Wilburn, Jr. Joyce had been a housewife and mother until her three children were grown. She worked for Joyland and the The Encore Shop and volunteered with Dames Ferry Elementary School which was the highlight of her life. Mrs. Wells was a member of Plentitude Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. She was also active with the Magnolia Partners in Gray, Georgia. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her loving husband of sixty one years, Richard Wells, Sr. of Macon, daughter, Sandra (Charles) Rooks of Jones County, son, Rick (JoVonna) of Lake Worth, FL, and daughter, Debbie (Neal) Redd of Jones County, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and sister, Jane Harralson of Milledgeville, and several nieces and nephews.
