Julia Compton Pelt, 96, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 20, 2021. A Celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. James H. Pelt, Jr. officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 690 Holt Ave., Macon GA 31204. Face mask and social distancing are required to be in attendance.
Julia was born in Twiggs, County to the late Pierce E. and Lena Wimberley Compton. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Pelt, Sr. and her brothers, Ermon Compton, Pierce Compton and Clarence Compton. She was a graduate of Twiggs County High School. Julia was a member of Mable White Baptist Church and the WMU. She was retired as Vice President of Operations with Sun Trust Bank. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Cunard of Macon; sons, James H. Pelt, Jr. of Ringgold, Ron S. Pelt of Matthews, NC; son-in-law, Douglas Cunard of Macon; six grandchildren, Vincent (Colicia) Cunard, Julia (Kirt) Barnes, Amanda (Michael) Capobianchi, Jeremy Pelt, David Pelt, Brian Pelt; three great grandchildren, Andi Cunard, Alex Cunard and Chloe Barnes; sister, Yvonne Elliott, and brother, Donald Compton both of Warner Robins; and several nieces and nephews.
