Kenneth Wayne Woodard, 61 of Macon, Georgia, departed this life on April 12, 2016 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 15, at 3 o’clock, in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Officiants will include Rev. Len Woodard, Michael Ventimiglia, Evan Jones, and Tony Cooper. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery and family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock.
Ken was born July 13, 1954 in Macon, Georgia to Alfred L. Woodard, Sr and the late Ola Mae Baston Woodard Maye. He was drawn into and totally captivated by the music industry at a very young age. Through his life he had the opportunity to meet, open for and back up many well-known stars. He traveled several years on the road with various groups and played locally with many talented musicians. Many of whom have gone before him. Later in life with the music industry changing locally, he found interest in graphic auto detail.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marcelle Mitchell Woodard; daughters, Cindy (Eric) Stewart , Lori (Daniel) Owens; 4 granddaughters, Hailey Stephens, Taylor Stewart, Alia Owens, Autumn Owens; father, Alfred L. Woodard, Sr.; brother, Len (Caroline) Woodard; sister, Vicki (James) Dunn; step father Jim Maye (Jean). He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a special friend to our family Michael Redd.
