Kenneth W. Walton, 86, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Charles Carter and Rev. Steve Byrd will officiate. The family will greet friends beginning at 2:00 pm the afternoon of the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central GA Chapter, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon 31201 or the donor’s favorite charity.
Captain Walton was born in Byron the son of the late Myrtle Greer Walton and Irvin Franklin Walton. He was retired as a former Captain of the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department and was a United States Army Air Corp veteran. Captain Walton was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Twiggs County.
Captain Walton is survived by his wife, Alma King Walton of Gray; daughters, Sue Hammons of Twiggs County and Patricia Walton of Gray; grandchildren, Ronnie and Alisa Walton both of Macon; great-grandchildren, Brian, Clay, Keely Walton, and Brandy, T. J., and Aaron Chick; 6 great-great-grandchildren.
