MACON – Lake William Green, Sr., 88, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Hardy Scarborough will be officiating. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Mr. Greene, son of the late Daniel Green, was born and educated in Riceville, TN. He served with Battery B, 506 AAA Gun Battalion of the U. S. Army during World War II and during the Korean War and was the recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Mr. Greene was a member of Living Hope Church, Living Waters Fellowship. He was a farmer, a contractor and machinist retired from Robins Air Force Base.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Turner Greene of Macon; his children, Dianne Groce (Frank), Lake W. Greene, Jr. (Sherry), Sheree Livingston and Jerrie Cobb (Mike); eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
