Lawrence Joseph “Joe” Owens, Sr., 74, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018. A visitation will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
Joe was born in Gary, West Virginia to the late Lawrence Thomas Owens Sr. and Mildred Ferguson Owens and was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Owens and brother, Larry Owens. Joe was retired from General Motors Corporation and served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Methodist faith and was a Mercer baseball fan. Joe was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda McLeod Owens; sons, Lawrence(Lisa) Joseph Owens, Jr., Jonathan (Laura)Owens and Alan (Brandi) Owens; grandchildren, Joshua Owens, Ben Owens, Samantha Owens and Liberty Owens; and brothers, Emory (Janet) Owens, Barry Owens and Jerry Owens.
