Lester L. “Buck” NeSmith, Jr., 66, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016 at a local hospital after a short illness. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private family entombment will follow in the Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will greet friends from 12:00pm until service time at the funeral home and ask that those attending dress casually. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund, American Diabetes Association, or the American Arthritis Foundation. Buck, as he was known, was born to the late Lester L. NeSmith and Margaret Bozeman NeSmith Chapman. He was a Field Service Supervisor at Conditioned Air from 1969 to 2008, when he retired. Buck loved God, his family, the Georgia Bulldogs, and firmly believed in the preservation of land.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma; his pride-sons, Les and Matthew and daughter, Meggan NeSmith; his great joy-grandchildren, Brandon, Ashleigh, Stephanie and Tyler NeSmith; sister, Grace (Bill) Brooks; brother, Hugh (Terri) NeSmith; nieces, Dana Page Pyles and Mandi NeSmith Green; great niece, Molly Pyles; and great nephews, Barrett and Wright Dunn.
