

Lewis Martin Mozzini, 89, of Bonaire, Georgia passed away on March 27, 2026. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026 @ Noon in the chapel of Snow's @ Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Doug Ivey officiating.
He was born on November 7, 1936 in King City, California and grew up on the family ranch, purchased by his grandfather, Henry Mozzini, in 1908. His father, Martin, was raised there, as was Lewis, along with his siblings. Lew and his first wife, Jackie, moved into the house in 1968 after his career in the Air Force. For thirty years, they raised cattle and did dryland farming. Today, part of the ranch is owned and operated by his eldest daughter, Marlee Francis and her husband Jeff.
Lew, affectionately called “Skeeter”, graduated from Oregon State in 1960 with a Math and Physics degree. He was a Captain in the Air Force from 1960 - 1968, where he served as a Navigator, Computer Programmer and Systems Analyst for the operations division of Headquarters United States Air Force Europe (USAFE) in Germany.
Lew had a long career in software engineering for embedded computers in defense electronics, avionics, electronic warfare, navigation, and communications systems. He received a commendation from Fort Hunter Liggett in California for his work with the TEXCOM Experimentation Center. He was recognized as one of the country’s experts in real-time casualty assessment software and hardware. He continued his career in these fields when he moved to Georgia in 1999, doing government contract work with various companies including Comarco Systems, Caelum Research Corporation, and Titan Corporation. He was a long time member of IEEE and served as their treasurer for many years.
Lew met his wife, Jerry, in ballroom dance class after moving to Georgia and they were married in February 2000. For 19 years they enjoyed an active social life that included cruises and karaoke with friends.You could often find them dancing at the Officer’s Club at Warner Robins Air Force Base or at the VFW. They enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves baseball and were active members at First Christian Church in Macon, where he served on the Property Committee, she was President of their Sunday School class, and they both enjoyed singing in the choir.
Lew was a pilot, an avid machinist and inventor. He had a pending patent that was never realized and loved tinkering in his workshop. He had a passion for Hit and Miss Engines, metal and wood work. Lew was best known for his million dollar smile, his fun nature and generous spirit. He was always quick to help his neighbor or lend his service and his time to those in need.
Lew is survived by his brother James Mozzini of Fallon, Nevada, sister JoAnne Presson (Bob) of Jamestown, California, daughters Marlee Francis (Jeff) of King City, California, Renea Hansston (Brent) of Winter Springs, Florida, Andrea Taylor of Bakersfield, California, son Marshall Mozzini (Erika) of North Bend, Oregon and first wife Jacqueline Mozzini of King City, California. Lew is also survived by his daughter Michelle Hood (Edrick) of Andersonville, Georgia, and sons Todd Marlowe of Cumming, GA and Rex Marlowe of Macon, GA.
Grandchildren are Fahlon Francis Zappelli (Jordan), Steven Francis (Chrissy), Ryan Francis, Shaundra Belle (Christopher Lesniewski), Alexander Taylor, Tori Taylor, Scott Taylor, Andrew Mozzini, Carmen Mozzini, Savannah Hansston, Isabella Hansston, Ben Bowdoin, Will Bowdoin, Dallas Marlowe (Lauren), Katie Marlowe, Drake Marlowe.
Great Grandchildren are Cody Francis, Lily Zappelli, Mason Zappelli, Sage Marlowe and Reece Marlowe.
Pre-deceased by parents Martin Lewis Mozzini and Amy Plaskett Mozzini, wife Geraldine (Jerry) Marlowe Mozzini, sister n law Della Mozzini, son in law Scott Taylor.
