

Services are scheduled for Tuesday October 3rd 2017 at 11:00 AM at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Jack Gregory will be officiating. Interment will follow at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Memorial Park.
Mrs. Perkins was born on July 30,1918 in Juliette (Jones County), Georgia to the late William F. and Mary Elizabeth (Mollie) Bell Wilkes; She was preceded in death by her brothers, Oliver F. Wilkes, Jesse Wiles and Marvin Wilkes.
Although small in stature, she loved to hunt and fish. She kept her fishing poles ready to go. As a big fan of Elvis Presley, she attended two of his concerts in Macon and enjoyed the many times she attended shows by “Elvis” entertainers through the years.
Family and friends always enjoyed the Bar-B-Q’s and fish fry’s she and her late husband, Ernest, had through the years. She continued these gatherings even through her last birthday celebration.
Lila and Ernest Perkins were blessed with seven sons; Ernest Thomas(Dana), William Robert (Carol Anne), Walter Lee, Jesse M., John O. (Norma Jean), Perry Vance (Elaine), and Oral Eugene (Deceased). They had eight grandsons: Darrell (deceased), Frank, Bobby, Jr., Randy, John John, John, Jr., Brandon, and Vance, Jr.; two granddaughters, Margie, and Sherry; five great-granddaughters and seven great-grandsons. Her youngest brother, John Wilkes(Helen) and many nieces and nephews also survive her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to “Faith For The Future” building fund at Northway Church, 5915 Zebulon Road, Macon, GA 31210.
