Linda Merline Long, 73, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Griffin, Rev. Jody Long, Rev. Julie Long and Rev. Micah Carr officiating. Burial will be private in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 5455 Mt. Pleasant Church Road, Macon GA 31216 or donor’s favorite charity.
Linda was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Weyman Merrill and Mabel Hardy Lineberger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Thomas Long, son, James “Jamey” Long, two brothers, Earl Lineberger and Larry Lineberger. Linda was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and retired from Cigna Insurance Company. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.

She is survived by her son, Rev. Jody (Julie) Long of Macon, beloved grandchildren, Merrill Long and John Thomas Long, brothers, Wayne (Marsha) Lineberger and Wendell (Leila) Lineberger and numerous nieces and nephews.
