Some people's life resounds well after their passing. Loran's yours is one of those. Your humble and compassionate ways were always inspiring to those around you. Thanks for being my friend and co-worker. We enjoyed many good laughs and times together. Meet me at heaven's bright door. Love You Brother.

The earth is but a testing ground for our soul, the heavens have gained another angel, this one strumming a guitar.  Loran's legacy will include those that try to model his example of grace, humility and compassion.

We only met once in Vegas both as new widow/widower but your soul was so easy to read. You had such a kind and generous spirit about you that had a calming affect in those around you. I am honored to be able to be included in this last good bye tribute to you dear friend. I know you are being met with arms wide open Loran. My heartfelt condolences to Derrick and the entire family for your loss of such a fine man. Thank you Derrick for your kindness to this group of people who loved your Father.

Such an inspiring man who gave so much of himself to others and tried to lighten our days with his quiet, gentle manner and his music.  Thanks for sharing the journey, Loran, see ya on the other side.

A wonderful, gentle, caring man who walked his talk. Loran lived & appreciated each moment of each day as if it were his last. His legacy is how he taught so many this valuable life lesson and changed their lives to give them a fuller, richer life as well.  Many have learned from him so we could savor each moment as well...no matter how small it seems. Thank you Loran for changing my life.

I met Loran in June of 2012 when a group of us from a Widow/Widowers on-line site decided to take a chance and meet in person in Vegas...strangers really, but we had all shared our hearts, our hurts in the devastating loss of our spouses...we shared in ways we didn't share with friends and family that couldn't quite understand our pain that we all felt a deep seemingly life long connection. We became a unique and special bonded family. We gathered together again in Pennsylvania August 2013 and most recently in Estes Park, Colorado just in mid October. Loran is a gentle, kind man with a lovely smile and a sparkle in his eyes. We all laughed together, with Loran as our guitar man lots of group singing---a bit off key---but with lots of energy---I will never hear YMCA without picturing all of us (none of us should quit our day jobs;)  shed some tears as we honored our loved ones with a luminary. I treasure the time I was able to spend with Loran. He is my friend and my brother. I miss him terribly and am having a hard time wrapping my mind around this great loss in our family. My heart hurts, but I also feel blessed by the knowing of him. Until we meet again, my friend. XO Sallie

Loran you were one of a kind!  I am happy to have called you my uncle.  I wish we would have had the opportunity to be closer.  Although there were miles between us, you were always close to me in my heart.  I was hoping to make it to Georgia after returning to the States, but I was a little too slow returning.  You will be missed.  Much love!!!!

Only met Loran a couple of years ago but felt like I've known him for years. He had the biggest heart and shared that with so many. Going to miss his little giggle and beautiful smile. God Bless his family & Friends with Peace of Heart.

Loran, an incredible man who was an inspiration to all he met. His music and gentle words brought peace to my soul during a time of turmoil. You forever have a spot in my heart. Dance and sing with your beautiful Vicki into eternity. We will always make each day "the best day of our lives".

Loran was a great person to work with, have lunch with and have a beer with.  He is truly inspirational and a role model to all.  He has touched many lives and will be missed by everyone that knew him.

Loran always had kind words to say, we will miss him greatly (already have), I know he is dancing in the sky with his precious Vic! What a great legacy he leaves behind. I can only hope to leave this world and have touched half the peoples life he has!

He was a one of a kind man.  He had the biggest smile and kindest heart.  Tho I didn't get to see him much, we all stay in touch thru Facebook.  I will miss him, as will a whole lot of other people.

Gone but NEVER forgotten!!  I will always cherish the memories of how you brought fun and laughter to our WW group when we all thought it was not possible.  What a great kind and caring gentleman and example for others to follow.  You will be sadly missed by all....
