Lori Grace Sawtelle Reitnauer

.Macon – Lori Grace Sawtelle Reitnauer entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 following a long illness. Visitation will be from 6:30-9 pm Friday April 15, 2011 at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private family gathering at graveside will be Saturday, followed by a public memorial service on the same day at First Evangelical Church 3601 Fulton Mill Rd. in Macon at 3:00 pm.

Born June 13, 1958 in Johnson City, New York, Lori spent most of her childhood years in Florida. A graduate of Lakeland Senior High School, Lakeland, FL, she later attended Baptist Bible College in Pennsylvania where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Also while at college she met Otto Reitnauer who later became her husband. A devoted wife and homeschooling mother, Lori had a heart for children of the world. In 2007 Lori, Otto and their then sixteen year old son Joshua journeyed to China to adopt nineteen month old Joyanna. Prior to Lori’s illness, she also was active in her home church at Ingleside Baptist, teaching and also working with children.

Lori is survived by her husband Otto and four children, Jonathan of Atlanta, Jared and his wife Emily, Joshua, and Joyanna all of Macon. In addition, her mother and father, Donald and Gloria Sawtelle of Macon; her siblings Larry and his wife Dani of Lakeland, FL, Randal of Lakeland, FL and Rhonda of Bloomington, IL; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.

In lieu of flowers, family and friends are asked to consider a donation to an education fund set aside for Joyanna at Atlantic Southern Bank.
