Luther Gene Baker, 68, of Macon passed away Monday, September 19, 2016 at Eastview Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at New Elim Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Baggett officiating. Burial will follow at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elim Baptist Church in Mr. Baker’s memory.
He worked at the Macon Water Department and later at J.M Huber Chalk Mine for over 25 years.
Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Baker, and was the son of the late Theodore P. Dyer and Mother, Billie Gordon Dyer Baker and Willie Baker; he is survived by sons, John Mark Baker and Kevin Paul (Rose) Baker; grandson Brandon Baker, brothers and sisters, Gary A. (Bea) Baker, Richard (Janice) Baker, Richard (Susan) Dyer, Sonya Lee Dyer(Tony) Miley, Ronald (Teresa) Dyer, Joseph Dyer and several nieces and nephews. Following the service friends are invited to a lunch held at the Church.
