Tal was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Malcolm T. and Martha Wilcher. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Wilcher. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was self-employed as a commercial real estate appraiser holding the MAI designation until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Arlene Wilcher, Allison (Joe) Thomas, Madison Thomas, Kara (Leon) Odell, Brady Thomas all of whom he loved as his own, sister-in-law, Lynn (Danny) Boyles and cousin, Wallace (Carolyn) Wilcher.
