

Margaret S. Long, 89, peacefully went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 1, 2012. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with her grandson, the Rev. Michael Blankenship officiating. The family will meet friends from 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home. Flowers are graciously accepted or those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice Care Options, 486 New Street, Macon 31201.
Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Long and her daughter, Twila Marge Long. She was born in Centerville the daughter of the late John Felton Stafford and Lillie Pearl Leaptrot Stafford. She was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was a member of First Baptist Church, Vidalia.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon (Mack) McElmurray of Macon and Janice Dunford of Vidalia; her son, James “Jimmy” F. Long, Jr. of Dublin; four grandchildren, Michael Blankenship of Macon, Kelly Dunford and Layla Hartley of Vidalia and Trey Long of Macon; five great grandchildren, Melodee Blankenship, Matthew Blankenship, Mia Wilson, Leyton Dunford, Kyndall Dunford and several nieces and nephews.
