Margaret Sellers Mappin, 93, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11:00 AM Monday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be private in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Maurice Witt will officiate. The family will greet friends from 4 until 6 PM Sunday at the funeral home and requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Wimbish Road Seventh Day Adventist Church, 640 Wimbish Road, Macon 31210.
Mrs. Mappin was born in Macon and was the daughter of the late Estelle and Claude Sellers. She was the widow of Hugh Mappin and was preceded in death by two sons, Freddie Dawson and Kenneth Dawson. Mrs. Mappin was a former employee of McKesson and retired from Coleman Meadows & Pate. She was a member of the Wimbish Road Seventh Adventist Church, volunteered as a Pink Lady, and was very active with the Senior Citizens Group.
Mrs. Mappin is survived by her son, Gary Mappin (Teresa) of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Joel Dawson, Kendra Spillers, Dwayne Dawson, Garrett Mappin, and Hillary Mappin; several great-grandchildren.
