Margie Best Allendorf, 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 8, 2012 after suffering complications from a Bone Marrow Transplant. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Dziadul officiating. The family will greet friends following the memorial service at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Leukemia Association, 3715 Northside Parkway, Building 400, Suite 300, Atlanta, GA 30327. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Blairsville, Georgia.
Mrs. Allendorf was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Raymond (Buck) and Marjorie Best. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald (Jerry) Vickers. Margie was retired from C&S National Bank as a Vice President and was an active member in the community in Blairsville, where she was a Pink Lady in Blairsville until her illness no longer allowed it. She has lived most of her life in Macon, GA and currently lived in Blairsville, GA. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. The loves in her life were her family, square dancing, making quilts and giving to others.
She is survived by her loving husband of nineteen years, Albert H. Allendorf of Blairsville, three children, Vicki (Bryan) Nelson of Lizella, GA, Angela (Mark) Vickers of Goochland, VA, Chris (Kristin) Vickers of Loma, CO, grandchildren, Calen and Sage Vickers of Loma, CO and sister-in-law, Nadine Powell of St. Simons Island, GA.
