

Our beloved mother, Margie S. Harrell, peacefully passed away on Friday January 9, 2026, born August 21,1925 tenth of thirteen children to Henry Jackson Simmons and Mary Silas Simmons in Hazlehurst, Jeff Davis County, Georgia. She has lived in Macon for over 75 years. Mrs. Harrell retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base where she worked as a civilian in electronics, and she was a member of Bloomfield Gardens Baptist Church. She lived a full century, devoted to her children and family. Her love was boundless and unwavering, a constant source of warmth and comfort. She delighted in watching her family grow and flourish, always supporting, encouraging, and cheering us on. Her gentle guidance and nurturing spirit shaped the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren leaving an indelible mark on each of us. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and incredible stories, her memory was a treasure trove of family history, she delighted in sharing vivid accounts of generations past. Her long and beautiful life was a testament to love and resilience. She was the ultimate matriarch. She leaves behind a legacy that will forever inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was fully loved and loved fully.
A visitation will be held at Snow's Funerals & Cremations at Macon Memorial Park, Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Chapel services will follow at 11:00 am. Rev. John Haney will be officiating. Burial will take place at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, all taking place at 3969 Mercer University Drive, Macon, Georgia, 31204.
As we gather to remember and celebrate her extraordinary life, we are reminded of the powerful legacy she leaves behind. We will miss her deeply, but we take comfort in knowing her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. May her memory continue to inspire us to embrace life with the same grace, love and kindness she exemplified every day.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three daughters: Laura Nell Harrell, Linda J. Kay, and Shirley H. Davidson, a granddaughter, Jennifer Ross, 5 brothers: Ovin, Ottis, Authel, Alton, and Eugene Simmons; and 6 sisters: Birdie Dixon, Minnie Miller, Ruby Yeomans, Eudell Herndon, Thelma McLeod, and Lillie Causey.
She is survived by her son Robert Larry Harrell of Phoenix City Al, two daughters, Anne Pryor (Derrell) of Macon, GA, and Margie H. Horton of Gray, GA, grandchildren: Tim Pryor (Tracy), Tammy Bowling, Tony Fulwood, Rachel Krause (Tom), Brian Hickman, Ashley Hickman and Corey Hickman (Beth); 11 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; one brother Arlis Simmons of San Diego, CA, her devoted friends Roberta Jolly, Virgina Hicks, Thelma Denard, Rachel Valentine and many beloved nieces and nephews.
