Marion Patman Damron, II “Skip,” 66, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, May 20, 2018. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 2:00pm in the Mausoleum Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Paul Dziadul officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet frinds from 1:00pm until the service.
Skip was born in Augusta, Georgia, and was preceded in death by his father, Marion Patman Damron; mother, Rita Spencer Crews; and step father, Layton Crews, Jr. He graduated from Willingham High School in 1961. Skip formerly owned and operated Bibb Bike Shop in Macon on Houston Avenue and later became a truck driver with COI in Macon for many years. He retired from Schnitzer, formerly Macon Iron and Paper. He was a member of the Episcopalian faith and an avid outdoorsman, especially hunting and fishing.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Beth Binford Damron, who he was with for 17 years; children, Mary Katherine (Adam) Spence and Trey (Brittany) Damron; grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacy, Jenna, Josie and Braylee; sister, Debra (Bill) Staudt; and aunt, Marian Barnette of South Carolina.
