Marlene Smith, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 24, 2016. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Corbitt, Rev. Norm Yukers, and Dr. Morgan Kerr officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Forest Baptist Church Building Fund, 1848 Tucker Road, Macon GA 31210 or Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon GA 31210.
Mrs. Smith was born in Carroll County, GA to the late Horace and Margaret Ballenger. She has been a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church since 1967, member of Ruth Friendship Sunday School Class and nursery work for more than forty years. She was a loving wife of 64 years, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.
She is survived by husband, Hardie Smith of Macon, three sons, Randy (Peggy) Smith, Jimmy (Judy) Smith, Brian Smith, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, brother, Milford (Joyce) Ballenger and numerous nieces and nephews.
