Marvin E. “Skeets” Irby, 87, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2015. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Holland officiating. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to donor’s favorite charity.
Mr. Irby was born in Macon, Georgia to the late William Wesley Irby and Mary Kate Wooten Irby. He was preceded in death by his brothers, William Irby and James Irby and sister, Evelyn Smith. He served his country in the United States Army, during the Korean War. Skeets was retired from Macon CPT as a salesman for carpet/floor coverings. Mr. Irby was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church and was on the Board of Directors at Macon Little Theatre. He was an avid golfer.
He is survived by his loving partner of forty years, Annie Laura Carroll of Macon, children, Kathryn Eilers (Greg) of Gray, Nancy Irby (George Todd) of Macon, Jim Carroll (Juliana)of Macon, Mark Carroll (Darren) of Ormond Beach, FL, grandchildren, Caitlin Eilers of Macon, Brooks and Shane Carroll of Ormond Beach, FL, Chase Carroll of Warner Robins, one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
