Macon, Ga - Mary Cornelia Brand, 79, peacefully passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 at her home with friends and family by her side after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2018 with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and the burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. Rev. Mark Magoni will officiate. The family of Mary Brand would like to extend our sincere thanks to Hospice for all the caregiving and support throughout this difficult time.
She was born July 23, 1939 in Thomaston, Georgia to the late William F. McDaniel and Dorothy Braswell McDaniel and later moved to Byron, Georgia where she graduated from Fort Valley High School in 1958. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed vacationing in the mountains and beach, swimming, riding bicycles, dancing and exercising. She loved spending time with all of her grandchildren, family and friends. She was always kind and loving to everyone she met. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Upper Room Sunday School Class.
Mary is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 58 years, Craig Brand. Two daughters; Donna Brock (Steve) Gray, Ga., Lisa Martin (Alan) Bolingbroke, Ga. Her three beloved granddaughters Stephanie Gregory (Coy) Macon, Ga, Melissa Ersoy (Aaron), McDonough, Ga, Tiffany Martin of Bolingbroke, Ga. One great granddaughter (Ellie Ersoy).
Mary also leaves behind two sisters and three brothers; Freda Herndon (Rudy), Shirley Harden (Gary), Billy McDaniel (Sheryl), Marshall McDaniel (Rhonda), Leon McDaniel (Joyce) the late Braswell McDaniel.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church Building Fund at 4256 Hartley Bridge Road Macon, Georgia 31216.
