Mary Carroll Pope “Sister”, 71, passed away on July 30, 2013. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jason Blankenship officiating. The family will meet friends on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Evangelical Church, 3601 Fulton Mill Road, Macon, GA 31220.

Mrs. Pope was born in Macon, GA. She was preceded in death by her loving grandmother, Leola Bryan and grandfather, Douglas Bryan who raised her, along with her precious son, Donald “Donnie” Wayne Hammock, Jr., husband, Jewell Pope, and her two dads, Kenneth P. Carroll and Louis E. Dudley. She was a member of First Evangelical Church and was retired from Bibb County Probate Court. In earlier years, she worked for Enterprise Aluminum and Pitney Bowes.

She is survived by her children, Kathy Hall and Cliff Hammock, two grandchildren, Christen and Ethan Hammock, mother, Virginia Dudley, sister, Cheryl Banknell, brother, Douglas Dudley, uncle, Emmett Spires, several cousins, nieces and nephews, and dear friends, Bonnie Williams, Barbara Green, Linda Newberry, Debbie Ayers, Laurie Carter-Seals, Julia Bryant and Cheryl Newman.
