Mary Newberry Hamlin, 94, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2012 in Mesa, Arizona. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Lizella United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Cason officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lizella United Methodist Church, 2920 S. Lizella Road, Lizella, GA 31052.
Mrs. Hamlin was the daughter of the late Marvin and Elizabeth Colvard Newberry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Edmond Hamlin, Sr., her daughter-in-law, Nona Fox Hamlin and two grandchildren, Stuart and Benjamin Hamlin. She was a member of Lizella United Methodist Church and the Lizella Club. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her children, Richard (Carol) Hamlin of Townsend, GA, Nancy H. (Ennis) Ham of Mesa, AZ, and Ted (Angie) Hamlin of Bolingbroke, GA, four grandchildren, Jennifer H. (Seth) Brantley of N. Augusta, SC, Jake (Amber) Hamlin of Atlanta, Richard (Emily) Ham of San Diego, CA, and Stephen (Megan) Ham of Mesa, AZ, five great grandchildren, and her sister, Nancy N. Webster of Macon, several nieces and nephews.
