It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Powe Wilson announces her passing after a lengthy illness, on Friday, May 18, 2018. She was 92 years old and lived in Port Charlotte, Florida. “MeMaw” will be lovingly remembered by her children, Charlene Norman of Paris, Kentucky, Linda Jones (Ray) of Rotonda West, Florida, and Steve Wilson (Lynn) of Tampa, Florida. MeMaw will also be missed by her eight grandchildren, David, Katharine, Josh, Marty, Betsy, Carly, Macy, and Logan, and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Martha Reed of Macon, Georgia, and Rachel Rowan, of Kennesaw, Georgia. Mary was predeceased by her husband, C.B. Wilson.
Mary was born in Camilla, Georgia, and lived most of her life in Macon, Georgia with her family. She was retired from Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia, as an administrative assistant. Mary was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, and a member of Liberty United Methodist Church prior to 1972.
A visitation of MeMaw’s life will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, May 26, at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3969 Mercer University Dr. A Celebration of her life will be in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home at 2 pm with the Reverend Jeff Cook officiating. Entombment with be in Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum.
