Merritt A. Berkner, Jr. passed away April 28, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will greet friends on Monday, April 30, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Joe Ferguson and Rev. Darrell Watson will be officiating.
Mr. Berkner was born in Roberta and was the son of the late Anna Johnson Berkner. He was preceded in death by a brother John Marcus Berkner. He served his country in the United States Army and was retired from Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Berkner was also a member of Greenwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn S. Berkner; father, Merritt A. Berkner, Sr.; daughters, Debbie Berkner Grantham; Carol Lea Moorman and Christy L. Moorman; sister Sandra (Eric) Sweat; brother, Hugh Berkner; two nieces and one nephew.
