My beautiful, sweet, loving brother. We gathered to celebrate your life today and I hope our tribute made you proud. We were so blessed to have been born into a loving home with awesome hardworking parents that always wanted the best for their children. Their were 4 kids you the oldest Wayne, Susan and me the baby. We all had an awesome child hood, going to the lake, fishing, swimming, going to local fields to pick and shell fresh produce, participating and watching sports and visiting all our cousins in the country. All these wonderful childhood memories flood my mind and feed my soul. Thank you God for allowing each of us to be a part of this beautiful family. Amen

In some ways, it seems like a lifetime ago. In other ways, it seems like only last week.

Mike, Wayne and I played on the W.T. Morgan baseball team in 1964. We won the city small school championship that year. It doesn't seem like such a big deal now, but back then it was.

Wayne and I were really good friends then being the same age. But, I looked up to Mike as being a leader on the team.

I also remember him being a good basketball player as was Wayne. Man, those are great memories.

Rest in peace, Mike. (And, thanks for the memories.}

Wayne, Susan and Cathy it’s been a long time since I’ve seen any of you! I just heard about this, and growing up on Woodside Dr., just around from y’all were the best days! Sorry to hear the news, but I’m sure he is living to the fullest! Again, my deepest sympathy!

He was Cathy, Susan and my big brother. He always had a joke or story to tell. He was the life of the party and always had a way to make you laugh. He was a stranger to no one and friend to everyone. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is with Momma and Daddy now and we can't wait to see them again. Love you, Mike.

Mike, aka Papa, was a funny, loving, gentle giant. He loved without end his wife (my mom) and never got tired of entertaining the grandchildren. You were a great man, Mike, and gone too soon! RIP Papa!
