Myrtle Jane Kelly

Myrtle Jane Kelly, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May, 26, 2024. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Jarred Kelly and Taylor Kelly officiating.

She was born in Rome, Mississippi to the late Robert E. and Leona Upchurch Tharp. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. A.L. Kelly, son, Rev. Tim Kelly and two brothers and a sister. She married Lavelle on May 12, 1961. She was a loving wife and mother who served alongside her husband in ministry for over 50 years. They pastored many congregations in Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Her greatest joys in life were raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A few of her many talents included playing the piano, growing beautiful plants, floral arrangement and later in life discovered she had an amazing ability to draw and paint. Myrtle was a talented interior decorator and her talents where on full display during the Christmas season which was her favorite time of year. She was a lifelong member of the Church of God and in recent years she attended Hope Church in Byron, Georgia.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammie Kelly of Warner Robin GA, grandson, Taylor (Libby) Kelly of Macon GA, grandson, Jarred (Hannah) Kelly of Greenville SC, granddaughter, Rebekah (Chase) McLendon of Jacksonville FL, great grandchildren, Elyse Kelly, Corbin Kelly, Parker Jane Kelly, Grant Kelly and baby McLendon one day, daughter-in-law, Melissa Kelly of Macon GA, brother, Doyle (Carolyn) Tharp of Sumner MS, sister, Mary Steed of Drew MS.
