Natalie Dolores Selman

Natalie Dolores Selman was born on April 14, 1937 at Macon Hospital. She loved being with family and friends, loved people in general, and was very outgoing. She loved having fun, especially dancing, listening to music, watching Hallmark movies, funny sit-coms, travelling and socializing. She absolutely loved everything about Christmas. She was very dedicated to taking care of the sick and elderly, whether family or friend. She resided at River City Nursing Home in Jacksonville, Florida and passed away on August 26, 2026.

As a teenager, she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized at Mabel White Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia.

She attended Charles H. Bruce Elementary, A.L. Miller Jr. and Sr. High School and GAB Business College. She married David Eugene Selman in December of 1954 and stayed at home and raised three children while her husband attended Mercer University, four nights a week, for eight years. She was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, in the Alpha Nu Chapter (Macon) and Alpha Tau Chapter (Atlanta), from 1958 until 1973. She was a member of the Charm Club at the YMCA in Macon, where she took modelling lessons, eventually doing some modelling while living in Macon and in Atlanta. After moving to Atlanta in 1965, she worked at F.W. Dodge Division of McGraw-Hill for 5 years and Alexander Underwriters General Insurance Agency for 13 years. After moving to Valdosta in 1987, she worked at Anderson Insurance Agency, for 7 years. In 2001, she moved to Warner Robins in order to help take care of her mother and father.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter (Martha Denise Selman), her mother (Mary Francis Carter), her father (Julian David Carter), her grandparents (Lila Mae Hartis, Samuel Bernard Hartis, Ed Carter), an infant brother and her husband (David Eugene Selman).

Her surviving family includes three children (David Rodney Selman (Emma), Cheryl Ann Herndon (William), Angelia Couch), three grandchildren (Shaun Cashwell (Christy), Amber Schultz, Ansley Spears (Stuart)), five great-grandchildren (Ashlyn and Brettly Cashwell, Stuart “Beau” and David Spears, Hudson Schultz), a sister (Jo-Ann Goss), a brother (Tony DiSpirito) as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Macon Memorial Park, 3969 Mercer University Drive in Macon, Georgia.
