

Natholyn "Nan" Miller Freeman, age 90, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023. A Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 20, 2023 in the chapel of Snow's at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment will be private in the Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum. Rev. Mark Magoni will officiate. The family will greet friends beginning at 1:00 PM and asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Martha Bowman United Methodist Church, c/o Nan Freeman Sunday School Class or Martha Bowman United Methodist Church, or the ROMEO'S, 500 Bass Road, Macon, GA 31210.
Nan was born in Reno, Georgia the identical twin daughter of the late Linne Pearl Newberry Miller and Andrew Jackson Miller, Sr. She was the widow of Sydney Brown Freeman, Sr. and was preceded in death by two sons, Sydney Brown Freeman, Jr. and Anthony Wayne Freeman and a grandson, Matthew Wayne Freeman. Nan was a retired teacher for 33 years of the deaf/hearing impaired, having taught in the Bibb County/Houston County School Systems. Nan was active in her church, Martha Bowman United Methodist Church for 46 years and Devereaux United Methodist Church during 20 years retirement at Lake Sinclair. She was a lay leader, Sunday School teacher, a member of the United Methodist Women and the namesake for Nan Freeman Sunday School Class formally established in 1983.
She is survived by her children, Janet Herndon of Forsyth, Trina (Vance) Thrift of Forsyth, Kerry (Sally) Freeman of Rincon; grandchildren, Jennifer (Rick) Dews, Nicole (Trey) Mitchell, Brittney (JJ) Bass, Sierra Herndon, Kate Freeman, Anna Freeman; great grandchildren, Haley, AJ, Ariella, Avery, Peyton, and Watson; sister, Annelle Linger the youngest of her 9 siblings; numerous nieces and nephews.
