Nell H. “Granny” Story, 86, passed away Friday, August 30, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Sam Waldron and Rev. James Stewart will officiate. The family will greet friends from 5 until 7 PM Monday at the funeral home and asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Georgia Chapter, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon 31201.
Mrs. Story was born in Florala, AL, the daughter of the late Vela Mae Marsh Hewett and Lorell Hewett. She was a retired self-employed beautician for over 50 years. Mrs. Story was a former member of Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church and currently a member of Ingleside Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. Mrs. Story was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Story and a brother, William Hewett.
Mrs. Story is survived by her husband, Charles R. Story of Forsyth; son, Randall Charles (Donna) Story of Forsyth; daughter-in-law, Joy Story of Macon; grandchildren, Shelly Story Marshall, Daniel Charles Story, Faith Michelle Story; brother, Coleman J. (Betty) Hewett of Gray; great-grandchild, Layden Elizabeth Marshall; several nieces & nephews.
