MACON – Nellie Lee Lewis Cagle McDuffie, 94, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 12, 2011 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Rusty Smith and Pastor Ed Chambliss will officiate. The family will greet friends from 2 until 3 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. McDuffie was born in Tift County, Georgia and worked at the Naval Ordinance Plant and retired from Robins Air Force Base. She was a very active member of Mikado Baptist Church, a member of the Ambassador Sunday School Class and was in the Glowing Years Program, where she was known for her “Deviled Eggs”. Mrs. McDuffie was the widow of Marshall Roosevelt Cagle and Milton McDuffie, the daughter of the late Harlston Davis Lewis and Bessie Mae Floyd Lewis and was preceded in death by a grandson, Alan Price.
She was a very devoted Christian lady and was a vibrant person who enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. Mrs. McDuffie was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling.
Mrs. McDuffie is survived by her daughter, Barbara Cagle Price of Macon; son, Dr. Marv R. Cagle of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Lyn Price Wilfong of Macon, Leslie Price Arnold of Gray, Robby Cagle of Byron and Jody Cagle of Centerville; great-grandchildren, Cacey Epps, Rusty Epps, Jaime Epps, Logan Price, Brook Cagle, Christin Cagle and Piper Cagle; great-great-grandchildren, Austyn Epps and Lillie Epps; several nieces, nephews and caregiver friend, Wanda Makuch.
