Nina Sue Peterson, 61, of Macon, GA passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018. A visitation will be held Tuesday, February 27th from 6 to 8 pm, with a funeral on Wednesday February 28th at 11 am both at Macon Memorial Park, on Mercer University Drive.
Sue was born in Warm Springs, GA on November 25, 1956 to Oliver and Elsie Booker. A majority of her childhood was spent in Macon and she graduated from Georgia College with a degree in Accounting. Sue retired from the Bibb County Board of Education as their Funds Manager in 2009 and spent her free time enjoying her work with the Macon Women’s Sertoma Club, traveling with her husband, Lawrence, and enjoying her cats.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver J. and Elsie Wilson Booker, Jr. Sue is survived by her husband of 30 years, Lawrence Peterson, of Macon, her brother and sister-in-law Oliver and Kate Booker, III, of Madison, sister and brother-in-law, Charles and Margaret (Peterson) Laurens of St. Simons Island, GA, several nieces and nephews, and one great-nephew.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Heart of Georgia Humane Society, 4551 Billy Williamson Drive, Macon, GA 31206.
