Olin J Burkhalter

Olin Jennings Burkhalter, Jr., 84, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016. A Celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday in the Chapel Mausoleum of Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Paul Dziadul will officiate. Burial will be private. A reception/visitation will follow the service in the Mausoleum Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to any Youth Sports Organization. The family would like to thank his special caregivers, Nasha and Kell.

Mr. Burkhalter was born in Jacksonville, FL the son of the late Nathalee McKee Burkhalter and Olin Jennings Burkhalter, Sr. He was retired from RAFB as a Wing Executive Officer and was a United States Army veteran. Mr. Burkhalter was a sports enthusiast, having coached Little League since age 18, played baseball at Mercer University, coached girls softball and coached football and basketball. Mr. Burkhalter received his BA degree from Mercer University and his MPA from Georgia College.

Mr. Burkhalter is survived by his wife, Mariann Martin Burkhalter of Centerville; daughters, Natalie Burkhalter Waddell (William) of Centerville, and Amy Burkhalter Woszczynski (John) of Canton; grandchildren, Jason & Andrew Woszczynski and Sam Waddell; brother, Donald Burkhalter (Dolores) of Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lannes Burkhalter.
