Patricia Walters Sherman, 79, of Gray, Georgia passed away surrounded by her family Monday, March 3, 2025. Funeral services will be held at Vineville Baptist Church on Saturday April 5, 2025 at 2:00pm.
Born in Canton, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late John S. Sams and Johnnie V. Mott Sams. She was a retired commercial realtor and was the owner of Preferred Commercial Properties. She was a member of the Vineville Baptist Church in Macon where she was a longtime Sunday School teacher and also attended First Methodist Church in Eatonton, Ga.
She is survived by her husband, Michael James Sherman, Children, Darren Wade Pettis (Becky), Mike Stanford Pettis(Dana) Step Children, Amber Michelle Patel (Nitin) and Sandra Sherman. Nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was an enthusiastic Georgia Tech football fan and could out cheer the men in the room. She also loved her book club with the ladies of First Methodist Church of Eatonton. Her very favorite hobby was shopping, whether it be online or at the mall. And she was always up for brunch or lunch out with “the girls” of Vineville Baptist Church. She was known by all as a social butterfly or life of the party. Put on some 60s music and she was singing and dancing along with it. When she wasn’t out socializing you knew you could find her at home snuggled up to her fur babies, Honey, Sissy, and Daisy. She will be missed terribly by her family and wide circle of friends, though they find comfort in knowing that she is with the Lord that she loved so dearly.
