Pearlie T. Pyles, 92, started her eternal life on Sunday, January 12 with her loving family at her side. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 17 at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park with the Dr. Mark Hudgins and Reverend Bill Neely officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday, January 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park. The burial following the service at Macon Memorial Park is private. The family requests that donations be made to the American Red Cross, 195 Holt Avenue, Macon, 31201.
Pearlie was born in Macon to Lucille Johnson Tucker and L. C. Tucker. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas O. Pyles, Jr.; daughter, Sue Ellen Pyles and sister, Juanita Marshall. Pearlie was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse with Hospitality Care. She was a charter member of Shurlington United Methodist Church and served in many capacities at the church. Pearlie was a member of the United Methodist Women and a former member of Pace Setters. She was the 1st Senior Cherry Blossom Queen in 1984 and a volunteer librarian for the Bibb Sheriff Prison. Pearlie also volunteered at the Medical Center of Central Georgia and was an active Whittle School Alumnae. She had a ministry and gift of crocheting for others. She had enjoyed her fourteen years living at Magnolia Manor and enjoyed having friends over for games and cards.
Survivors include her three sons, Alan Pyles (Becky) of Florida, Ken Pyles (Diane) of Atlanta, and Don Pyles (Betty) of Macon; daughters, Ann Etheridge (Steve) of Jones County and Tina Graham (Howard) of Macon; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
