Peggie Lavender Grantham, 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 1, 2023. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mausoleum chapel of Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, with son, Reverend Chip Grantham officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mattie Marshall Center, 2001 South Lee Street, Americus, Georgia 31709.
Peggie was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Herbert O. and Mary Will Lavender and was preceded in death by her husband, William Fox Grantham; sister, Kay Lavender; and granddaughter, Olivia Grace Grantham. She loved to dance and was a member of the Silver Spurs Adult Line Dancing Group.
Peggie is survived by her children, Chip (Stephanie) Grantham, and Traci Grantham; grandchildren, Bailey Grantham, and Marlyn (Dylan) Teel; brother, Bill (Carolyn) Womack; great aunt, Nell Goodwin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
