Ralph L. Judd, Jr., 91, died at his home on Thursday, April 12, following a long illness. He was born in Lisbon, Maine, on August 7, 1926, the son of Ralph L. Judd, Sr. and Elsie Beal (Judd) Chase. He attended Lisbon schools. Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Army in 1944 and served during WWII in France and Germany.
Ralph married Earline Butler on June 21, 1948 in Lisbon, Maine and raised his family there. For 69 years they enjoyed traveling together and spending time with their grandchildren at the family cottage in Harpswell, Maine.
He had worked many years in the Lisbon textile industry. His greatest professional joy was his last job as head custodian at Lisbon High School. He was always present at the sports activities held at the high school gym and loved talking to all the students.
He is survived by his wife, Earline; his daughter, Sheila McAllister and husband, Val, of Bonaire, GA; son-in-law, Howard F. Jones, Jr., of Perry, GA; 3 sisters, Margaret Waters, Pat Jordan, and Elsie Samson; 4 brothers, Stanley Judd, David Chase, Dale Chase, Danny Chase, Ken Chase; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Earline J. Jones; son, Ralph L. Judd, III; and brothers, Lawrence Judd and Howard Chase.
Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Sabattus, Maine to be determined at a later date.
