

Richard Blaine Marshall, 76, of Winston, GA passed away February 21, 2016 in Las Vegas, NV, while visiting his very dear cousin, Doris Bumgardner. Graveside services will be held at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery in Macon, GA on February 27, 2016 at 2:00 pm EST. The family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Children's Hospital in Birmingham, AL or the Children's Hospital of Georgia in Augusta, GA.
Richard was born October 22, 1939 in Louisburg, NC to Emma Lilly and James Ellis Marshall. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Vivian and Dorothy, and brother, Horace. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from East Carolina University. He served as an aircraft maintenance officer in the United States Air Force from 1965-1968. While in Macon, GA, Richard owned Marshall Moving and Storage. In Gadsden, AL he owned Homer Moving and Storage and was a member of Central United Methodist Church. With a love for flying and travel, he was a member of Experimental Aircraft Association and Family Motor Coach Association. After living in both Colorado Springs, CO and Maryville, TN, he earned Master Gardner certification and was a member of First Baptist Church in Villa Rica, GA.
He is survived by wife Marilyn Hosmer Marshal; sons, Matthew Lawrence (Beth) of Birmingham, AL, and Joshua Blaine (Rachel), of Augusta, GA; brother, James and sisters, Frances of Louisburg, NC, Alma Small of Franklinton, NC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The loves of his life were his granddaughters Hannah, Maggie, Alyssa, Brenna, Mollie, and Marcie.
