Richard “Ricky” Al Gay, 61, earned his wings and went to meet his Lord and Savior along with his wife Pamela Yaughn Gay early Sunday, February 20, 2022. A Celebration of His Life will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Johnny Baggett officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Ricky was born in Telfair County, GA to the late Pete Gay. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pam Gay. Ricky was a 1980 graduate of Southwest High School of Macon, Georgia. He worked as a police officer at the Medical Center and then at the Macon County State Prison in Oglethorpe, Georgia until he took medical retirement in 2005. He was a member at Hardison Baptist Church in Byron. Ricky enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.
He is survived by his mother-in-law, “Ma” Ethel Chancey, his mother, Betty Gay, brother, Danny Gay and sister, Vickie (Dale) McDonald.
