

Macon, GA—Mr. Robert Ashley “Bob” Belote, passed into the arms of his Savior, Tuesday morning, February 16, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 20, at 11 o’clock, in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, and the Rev. Brad Marchman will officiate. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday, for an hour prior to the service, and they suggest that those who wish, make memorial contributions to Lawrence Drive Baptist Church Building Fund, 5774 School Road, Macon, GA 31216.
Mr. Belote was born in Statesboro, Georgia, to the late Charles Sumter Belote Sr. and Georgia Lillian Spillers Belote. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II, from 1940-1945. He was a long time 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, having held many titles and received many awards. Some achievements are to include being Master of Marshall A Weir 448, Grand Marshall for the Grand Master Henry Hooper, member of William A Davis Daylight Lodge, Secretary of Marshall A Weir Lodge, Secretary of the 6th Masonic District. Mr. Belote received a Certificate of Merit from President Lyndon B Johnson, on August 3, 1966, for an advancement he made, while working for Robins Air Force Base’s Civil Service. He loved fishing and especially bowling, receiving a 25 year bowler pin. Mr. Belote was a loving and devoted husband and father, coaching his sons Little League teams, and traveling with his family. He was a member of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church and their Duane Brannon Sunday School Class. Mr. Belote was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister, 1 grandchild, and 1 great grandchild.
Left to carry his legacy are his wife of 69 ½ years, Dorothy Wilson Belote; daughters, Sandra Belote (Ben) Davis, and Kathie Belote (William) Daniels; sons, Mickey Belote, and David (Wanda) Belote; grandchildren, Craig, Angie, Chris, Jeremy, Amber, Alex, Brittany, Jordan, and Samantha; 9 great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
