Robert "Bobby" E. Wood

Robert “Bobby” E. Wood, 75, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Spivey officiating. The family will greet friends on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family may be contacted at the home of Leslie Faulk.

Bobby was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Lester and Carolyn Wood. He proudly served in the United States Army where he was a recipient of a Bronze Star and Air Medal. He was retired as the Parks and Recreation Director for Jones County. Bobby was a member of Lanier Heights Baptist Church for over fifty years. He enjoyed coaching football and baseball at Ocmulgee Little League and Jones County Park and Recreation. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his wife, Fay Wood, children, Rachel (Mark) Singletary, Leslie (Blake) Faulk, Wesley Wood, Lisa (Bruce) Hardy, Tina (Joe) Pittman, grandchildren, Brian, Jessica, Frannie, Katie, Drew, Victoria, Baley, Kamree, Rayden, Hayden, Kira, and Lacie, four great grandchildren, siblings, George (Rhonda) Wood, Diane (Roy) Hall and several nieces and nephews.
