Robert William Bowen

Robert William Bowen, 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, October 13, 2015. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 16, 2015 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Dr. Jarred Hammet and Rev. Paul Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church, 565 Wimbish Rd., Macon, 31210.

Mr. Bowen was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Jessie and Nell Perdue Bowen and was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Bowen and sister, Rose Marie Capelle. He served in the United States Army from 1948 until 1952 during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Guam. Mr. Bowen retired after 31 years from Lucent, formerly known as Western Electric, and later AT&T. He was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and enjoyed putting puzzles together, camping, and playing pool at North Macon Recreational Center. Mr. Bowen was a loving and devoted husband, father, poopa, and papa.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Frenchie Bowen; children, Keith (Tammie) Bowen and Teresa (Rod) Tew; grandchildren, Kimberly (Chase) Thompson and Stephanie Tew; and soon-to-be great granddaughter, Finley Thompson.
