Dr. Roney Vincent Crews, 75, passed away Monday, July 30, 2018. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, August 3, 2018 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Thursday night at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be Monday, August 6, 2018 at 1:30pm in Roseland Park Cemetery in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The family will greet friends at 12 noon Monday at Moore Funeral Services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bellevue Baptist Church, 5925 Price Road, Macon, 31220.
Dr. Crews was born in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Oscar Roney Crews and Mildred Gregory Crews and was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Murphy Crews and son, Clayton Raymond Crews. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and Southern College of Optometry. Dr. Crews worked at Baptist Memorial as a Medical Technician in Memphis for over 20 years and later worked at Downtown Opticians. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church.
Survivors include his children, Vincent Gregory (Amy) Crews, Lancelot Carlton Crews, Rona Lane (Jim Ed) Owen and Piper Laurie Ware, all of Mississippi; five grandchildren; and sister, Angela (Larry) Keeton of Oklahoma.
