A native of Columbus, GA, Mr. Dawley was the son of the late Donald James Dawley and June Louise Ring and lived most of life in Macon. He was a member of Forrest Hills Church of Christ, the Weekend Gold Miners Prospecting Club, and the DAV. He served in the U.S. Army serving two tours in Vietnam and received the Purple Heart. Mr. Dawley was a commercial pilot and a Flight Instructor with Cochran Field Aviation. He was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Felton Ring.
Mr. Dawley is survived by two sisters: Linda Daniel and Dena Shelnutt and her husband Joey; a brother, Arthur Ring and his wife Kumiko; several nieces and nephews; and his two "children" Roscoe and Susie.
