Roy “Marvin” Shults, 82, passed away on August 11, 2021. The family will greet friends on Friday from 10:00AM to 10:45AM at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 13, 2021 in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Shults was born in Macon, GA to the late Dock Montgomery Shults and Mary Lou Clark. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and the favorite uncle. Mr. Shults graduated from Dudley Hughes School and was a member of the 202nd unit of The Georgia Air National Guard. He was the Assistant Director of Civil Defense for the city of Macon in the 1960’s and was very committed to serving others. He was an active 50 year member of the Masons Mabel Lodge #255 and part of William A David Lodge #753. Mr. Shults was also an active member of Shiners International and The Macon Jaycees. He drove children from all over the country to the Shriners Hospitals and he also enjoyed playing Santa for children of all ages. Mr. Shults was a past president of the Macon Exchange Club, but above all, his passion was in photography. He had natural talent and enjoyed meeting people throughout his photography career. Mr. Shults was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Eva Shults and brothers; Harry Schultz, Charles D. Schultz, Harold E. Schultz and James Hubert Schultz.
Survivors include his daughters; Leigh Bryan (Chris) and Lyn Shults; granddaughter, Alli Bryan; a host of nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
